The Seal of the President of the United States, also the Great Seal of the United States and the back of the Kennedy half dollar. The seal itself dates back to 1850 and has been redesigned and updated numerous times.

It features a bald eagle with wings extended, on its breast a shield with 13 perpendicular red and white stripes, grasping arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other.

So how exactly is the eagle holding up the shield?

Some insight.
